At the recommendation of architect Jim Olson, Charlie was brought on to guide the transformation of a striking Wendell Lovett-designed home—reimagining it from an iconic bachelor pad into a warm, elegant residence for a growing family. The project’s scale and ambition generated a wide range of bold ideas, which Charlie carefully shaped into moments of clarity, contrast, and cohesion. Her design honors the home’s modern, avant-garde spirit while introducing intimate zones for rest, work, and play. Expansive entertaining areas balance with thoughtful, child-friendly spaces, all unified by a refined European sensibility. Set along the shores of Lake Washington, the residence now reflects the full rhythm of family life—artful, joyful, and deeply personal.
