Broadmoor Spanish Colonial
Seattle, WA
In Seattle’s Broadmoor neighborhood, this 1940s Spanish Colonial has undergone two elegant transformations—each designed by Charlie to enhance connection, comfort, and livability. The first phase reimagined the lower garden level into a multifunctional retreat, complete with a storage-rich playroom and a cozy lounge anchored by a custom oversized banquette. Later, Charlie returned to convert a former asphalt-shingled Juliet balcony into an intimate outdoor sanctuary. Collaborating with Lockhart Suver, she layered terracotta-toned, weather-resistant materials with Moorish-inspired details—most notably, a laser-cut privacy screen and sculptural banquette. The result is a home that feels both timeless and lived-in, where interior warmth and exterior beauty flow effortlessly together, and every space invites lingering.
